- recognize you when you use our Services.
The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
- Cookies (or browser cookies). We and our service providers may use cookies and other technologies to receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our Services through your computer or mobile device. A cookie is a small file or piece of data sent from a website and stored on the hard drive of your computer or mobile device. On your computer, you may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser, and you may have similar capabilities on your mobile device in the preferences for your operating system or browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Website or use certain parts of our Platform or App. Unless you have adjusted your browser or operating system setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Website, Platform or use our App.
- Tracking Pixels. Pages of a Website, Platform, or our e-mails, may contain small electronic files known as tracking pixels (also referred to as clear gifs. pixel tags and single-pixel gifs) that permit us, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an e-mail and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. to collect certain information relating to your use of the Website through the use of cookies. With Google Analytics, the information generated by the cookie about your use of the Website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by a Google server. Google uses this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the Website, compiling reports on Website activity for us, and providing us with other services relating to Website activity and internet usage. You can prevent the storage of data relating to your use of the Website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available here.
You can also obtain additional information on Google Analytics’ collection and processing of data and data privacy and security here and here.
We may also use Google Analytics Advertising Features or other advertising networks to provide you with interest-based advertising based on your online activity. Interest-based advertising (also known as targeted or behavioural advertising) means that your preferences and interests are collected through cookies or similar means, and then used to serve you advertising and marketing materials that are relevant to you (based on those preferences and interests). Without interest-based advertising, you would still be getting ads when browsing the Internet. However, these ads would not be personalized based on your preferences and interests – and so, they would be less relevant to you, and less effective for us.
From time to time, we may use other web analytics services to collect certain information relating to your use of the website.
You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser, such as by uninstalling and blocking certain cookies. Click on your browser below to obtain instructions.
You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on mentioned above.
To know more about why you are seeing an ad, how to control and/or opt-out of marketing cookies and tracking technologies for interest-based advertising, please visit the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada website for more information on the AdChoices Tools. You can also consult Google Ads.
Some of the cookies that we use are essential or recommended for the use of the Services, and you may not be able to access and use all the Services without these cookies.
